Why Coaching?
Here at Saunton Golf Club, we have a number of PGA Professionals available to offer lessons to all golfers; from juniors to group lessons and beginners to advanced golfers.
We also have the Junior Academy Scholarship at Saunton.
The JASS Scheme was set up as a joint venture between the management of Saunton Golf Club and the Saunton Professional Staff. The aim of the Scholarship programme is to encourage active participation in junior golf at grassroots level.
Successful applicants receive free membership and coaching for up to 3 years, providing they meet realistic and achievable goals, which are set within the programme, on an annual basis.
Trials for the Scholarships are held in March and the Trials Day date will be published on our website well in advance.
The Trials day is open to boys and girls aged 9 to 16 years old. Beginners are most welcome. There are twelve available Scholarship placements each year.
We would actively encourage anyone who is remotely interested to attend the Trials Day. You will be made to feel most welcome in a fun learning environment.
It could be the beginning of a wonderful journey.

After growing up playing his golf in Taunton, John took the chance to move closer to the sea when he went to Swansea University in 2005 to study Sport Science. There he was able to continue his passion for golf whilst also surfing and skiing more frequently. After graduating from University he went to Canada and qualified as a Ski Instructor but it was his love of golf and of the seaside that lead to his move to Saunton in December 2012.
